Inventory is for materials and consumables that get used up — bought, consumed and finished. Assets are durable equipment assigned to people and returned. The two modules complement each other but solve different things.
Can I see who consumed the most of a given material?
Yes. Consumption reports show quantities by employee, by item and by category over a chosen period, so you see exactly where materials go.
